Back to Makins again for Teams of 3 !
Our same team of myself, Mick Less and Nigel Bond are now back at Makins for 6 rounds of Teams of 3.
The drawbag was especially unkind to us during the last series and we hoped for better this time - however it was not to be.
I ended up on Avon 16 which is a bad peg in the section (8-22), Nigel was on Crater 13 - not good with 14 being in aswell, and Mick was again on a crap peg in a good section - Lake 2 peg A9.
To cut a very long story short I had a dry net with only 1 bite all day (that was on the paste). Steve Crocker to my left had 1 carp for 8lb (foul hooked in the tail) and the 2 anglers to my left had 1 carp apiece. Charlie Shaw was on the recent flier (10) and only mustered 16lb with the section being won with 23lb from peg 12.
On the other phases, Nigel was well down with a few pound of bits and Mick came about halfway in his 8 peg section with 11lb.
Despite everyone thinking it would fish well because of the relative mild weather we have had - it didn't.
Next week I am resigning from drawing duties to let on of the other 2 have a go !
On the bright side - Bait Tech Festival is only 3 weeks waway - HIC !
